Services Provided

The District provides sewer collection services and owns and maintains the sewer lines within the District's boundaries. It contracts with the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility for wastewater treatment and disposal. Solid waste collection services, including billing services, are currently provided through a service contract with GreenWaste Management Inc. Solid waste services include refuse (trash), recyclable materials and yard trimmings collection.

The Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District (District) provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the residents of the District and by contract to areas outside its boundaries. The District is designated as the fire marshal for all unincorporated lands in Santa Clara County. 
 

On July 1. 2025, a reorganization dissolving the South Santa Clara County Fire Protection District (SCFD) and annexing its territory to the District became effective which increased the population and territory served by the District.

Service Area

The District's boundaries encompass approximately 420 square miles which include the City of Cupertino, Town of Los Gatos, City of Monte Sereno, a portion of the City of Saratoga, unincorporated lands to the County line west of these cities, unincorporated islands within the City of San Jose, unincorporated lands south of the City of San Jose, the unincorporated community of San Martin; and other unincorporated lands surrounding the cities of Morgan Hill and Gilroy including portions of the Diablo Range to the east and the Santa Cruz Mountains to the county line in the west.
 

The District has a contract with the cities of San Jose and Milpitas for service to the unincorporated islands and to the lower eastern foothills. The District also provides service outside its boundaries by contract to the cities of Campbell and Los Altos and to the Los Altos Hills County Fire District and to the Saratoga Fire Protection District.
