The Local Agency Formation Commission of Santa Clara County (LAFCO) will hold a public hearing to receive written protests regarding a reorganization proposal involving the dissolution of the South Santa Clara County Fire Protection District (SCFD), and concurrent annexation of its territory to the Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District (CCFD). The LAFCO Executive Officer will conduct the protest hearing.

Written protests against this reorganization may be filed by any owner of land OR by any registered voter in the SCFD territory. An individual may file written protest BOTH as an owner of land and as a registered voter.

Information on Filing Written Protest
Pursuant to Government Code §57051, each written protest must state whether it is made by a landowner or a registered voter and must be signed and dated.
Written protest signed by a landowner must include the name of the landowner, and the street address or Assessor Parcel Number, or other description adequate to identify the location of the land. Written protest signed by a registered voter must include the name and address appearing on the affidavit of voter registration.
Any written protest without a date, bearing a date prior to the date of publication of the Protest Hearing Notice, or submitted after the conclusion of the protest hearing shall be disregarded for purposes of ascertaining the value of written protest. A written Protest Form submitted by mail must be received by LAFCO no later than the conclusion of the protest hearing to be considered.
