Policies on Urban Growth Boundaries and Other Long-Term Boundaries
- LAFCO shall recognize any urban growth boundary, urban limit line, greenline, greenbelt boundary, or other boundary adopted by a city and/or approved by voter initiative to define the limits of its urban development.
- LAFCO shall consider these boundaries when reviewing relevant proposals, including: city annexations or reorganizations which LAFCO retains the authority to review pursuant to Government Code Section 56826, urban area amendments, sphere of influence amendments, and “out-of-agency” extension services.
- LAFCO shall discourage proposals which are inconsistent with an adopted urban growth boundary.
